Managing Partner and President

Eduardo is currently Managing Partner and President with ELS Consulting. In this current role, Eduardo provides diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) engagement, leadership, and strategic planning consultation for client organizations. Primary clients are in higher education, high technology companies and non-profit organizations.

Eduardo was formally the Associate Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer for Saint Mary’s College of California where he was responsible for providing overall leadership for the Human Resources function. During Eduardo’s tenure at Saint Mary’s he led the development of several organizational transformation initiatives including the development of an HR Service Delivery Model, Workforce Planning, served on the President’s strategic planning task force, College’s inclusive excellence committee, labor management committee and several other programs designed to provide quality HR outcomes for the college.

Prior to Saint Mary’s, Eduardo was the Chief Diversity Officer for Intuit, a leading provider of financial software solutions. During Eduardo’s time at Intuit, he drove the design, facilitation and implementation of an end-to-end diversity and inclusion strategy for the company. He received the VIP award (Vision, Impact and Performance) for his work on diversity and inclusion. Eduardo also worked in various HR management roles for Silicon Graphics, Apple Computer, Pacific Gas and Electric and the General Electric Company.

Eduardo received his master’s degree in leadership from Saint Mary’s College, graduating with honors, and was selected the number one graduate student in his cohort. Eduardo received his bachelor’s degree from San Jose State University. Eduardo is a certified inclusive excellence practitioner, skilled in leadership and organizational development, strategic planning, and talent management. Eduardo is Past President of CUPA, (College and University Professional Association).

Eduardo formally served on the Board of Trustees for the National Hispanic University, and Past Vice President of the Board for the Greater Northern California, Northern Nevada Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.

Member of the Hispanic Serving Institution, (HSI) task force at Saint Mary’s College, (SMC). Familiar with HSI competitive grant proposal requirements, and other systemic statewide requirements. The HSI program at SMC was instrumental in being granted WASC accreditation for their DEI commitment. Worked in partnership with the provost to increase diverse faculty hiring by 25%. Drove the facilitation, design, and delivery of an HSI Advisory Group strategic plan for Santa Clara University. Worked in collaboration with the VP of Enrollment Management and strategic members of the campus community, including the president, cabinet members, vice presidents, faculty, staff, and students to identify strategic short- and long-term goals, own key priorities, and accountability measures.

Served on the Las Positas Community College, (LPC), Foundation Board. LPC was an HSI community college and committed to STEM, guided pathways, and certification programs with Google, Kaiser Permanente, Lawrence Livermore Labs, and Lam Research.

Actively involved with “Conectado”, a focused strategy to build a support ecosystem for Latinx students from the classroom to the boardroom. Conectado is in dialogue with several private and public colleges and universities to leverage the use of AI, digital imagery to provide students access to college and employment opportunities. Eduardo Salaz has a 25-year relationship with the founder and CEO, Guillermo Diaz Jr., (G).

Close working relationship with Cristo Rey, Jesuit High School in San Jose, and Cristo Rey De La Salle, in Oakland and Downtown College Prep (DCP), in San Jose. Both charter schools have Chicanx / Latinx enrollment between 85-90%

Spent 20 years working in high technology, in various senior diversity roles. Have working relationships with several high technology executives and committed DEI corporate leaders. Corporate high-tech leaders include Brad Smith, former Intuit CEO, and Sasan Goodarzi, current Intuit CEO, Shantanu Narayen, current CEO of Adobe, Ken Coleman, former EVP with Silicon Graphics and Hewlett Packard Company.

Experience working with DEI subject matter experts, community-based organizations, employee resource groups, (ERG’s), local and national diversity organizations, and DE&I consultants.
